Cash for Clunker Kitchens...
$4,500 Cash Back Towards Your New Kitchen!
|
Well, I guess it's quasi-official, summer has come...and summer has gone. Work-wise, it left something to be desired, but in every other way it was wonderful. Lots of family time and lots of fun times. With fall coming, we have definetely experienced a little uptick in the local construction and Real Estate economy. For that we are grateful. Maybe all of that federal stimulus is beginning to trickle down to our little beach town. Hallelujah.
Now it's our turn to add a little local stimulus. With great fanfare, John Fuchs Construction, in conjunction with Beyond the Box Kitchen Design, would like to announce our first ever "Cash for Clunker Kitchens" program. With the holidays approaching, now might be the ideal time to trade-in that old, inefficient, dated and dilapidated kitchen for a sparkling, highly efficient and gosh-it's-good looking, newer model. And if that's not enough, we will give you $4,500 CASH BACK!
What's the catch? There is no catch. We will take $4,500 right off the bottom line of our already competitive prices.
Give us a call soon ... this offer expires 10/31/09!

 Great Kitchens & Great Causes
A word from the Head Coach -- Aptos High Girls Golf Team (a.k.a. John Fuchs) |
| Speaking of classy kitchens, the Annual Literacy Council Kitchen Tour was a big success last month. We had a great turn-out and a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" were overheard. We would like to thank Tory & Paul Dubiel for opening their home to the public and supporting a great cause.
Speaking of Great Causes, as many of you may or may not know, Robin & I are the coaches for the Aptos High Girls Golf Team. We have a terrific group of girls this year. What we are lacking is funding. Our school district has suspended all funding for high school athletics. We are on our own. Our projected budget is $3,000 for uniforms, range balls, tee times, awards & banquets. We are currently $1500 short of that budget right now, and the season started last week.
We are soliciting donations of any size. If you are able to help out, please make out your check to Aptos High School Girls Golf, and you can mail it to our office @ 758 Rio Del Mar Blvd., Aptos CA, 95003.
Your help would be greatly appreciated! |
| Green Tips
Q: I cashed in my Clunker Kitchen -- what happens to all of the Clunkage?
|
A: Bringing in a new kitchen inevitably results in hauling out a whole lot of old stuff. The used cabinets, appliances, countertops, plumbing fixtures and debris need to end up somewhere, and some "wheres" can leave less of an impact on our environment than others. Here are a few "Green Tips" to think about as you ponder your kitchen remodel: Reuse: Re-install the old cabinets in your garage or laundry area for extra storage space. Use the old kitchen sink and faucet as a utility sink in the garage or garden potting area. Or post it all on Craig's List to sell or just to give away. It will save dumping fees AND save room in our local landfill. Reduce & Recycle: All of your old appliances can be recycled for free at Buena Vista Recycling Center. We'll use our dump trailer to manage the hauling as part of the demolition process. There are also reduced dumping fees to recycle "clean" concrete and ceramic tile (hoo-ray -- no more grout!) and we'll do our best to make that happen. Once we've gotten the old kitchen cleared out, you can do the next generation a favor (remember, they are going to remodel your beautiful new kitchen in about 20 years!) by selecting "greener" cabinets, countertops, paint and flooring this time around. There are a lot of new products on the market, and it can get a bit overwhelming, but we will gladly walk you through the selection process. There's more "green" than just the cash with this Cash for Clunker deal!

Project Updates
Aptos Flood Damage
After a busted hot water pipe flooded this Aptos home, there was a moldy mess to clean up and now we're ready to roll up our sleeves and do some major remodeling. A new kitchen by Beyond the Box will be the centerpiece of the new floor plan. Add oak flooring, some new windows, creative lighting and this poor house will soon return to being a warm, inviting home. Paradise Park Remodel:
After some unexpected delays (are any delays in construction really unexpected?) we just started work on a sweet little home in Paradise Park. Tucked under the redwoods on an impressive (steep!) slope, this old cottage will benefit from a light-filled addition and some good ol' fashioned sprucing up. We're excited about being a part of the transformation process.
