JUNE 2012 NEWSLETTER

Well hello there, didn't see you come in...

Welcome to the June 2012 edition of our monthly newsletter, it's going to be a quickie this month because we are playing some serious catch-up after finishing off another move :) Hopefully everybodies summers have begun and you're all Bacon in the sun :) Summer in Athens is much different than the rest of the year, mainly because a lot of the UGA students migrate back to their hometowns for some down time before starting up another year of schooling in the fall :) It's a nice change of pace, and a very relaxed atmosphere. June is also nice in Georgia because the weather hasn't become too excruciatingly hot yet, so spending time outdoors is perfect around this time :) This summer is going to be a memorable one here at Sheath HQ, as we're putting out one of our favorite records ever by the amazing trifecta Constants, it's called Pasiflora, and then we're dropping a new 7" by the monolithic Aeges posse. More news on both bands releases are detailed in the newsletter below. But right now, stop reading this for a moment, go grab a beverage, step outside, breathe in the air and be thankful for everything you have...

...done? OK, lets get busy...

CONSTANTS
Pasiflora
Preorder

We've been talking about this album for a long time, and for good reason, it's the single best piece of work Constants have created in their prolific career! And if you are familiar with Constants back catalog, then you know that that statement is not one to be tossed around half-heartedly. They've expanded upon past material, but through a dreamy filter that belies any preconceived notion of what their fifth studio album might sound like. But the time for talk has reached it's end (seriously, just go check out the new song Sunrise HERE and their cover of Catherine Wheel's Strangefruit HERE), as the album drops worldwide on CD/digital formats 7/24 and on vinyl 8/21. You know what that means? It's almost time for the preorder!! Radar Visuals' Michael Repasch-Nieves (also of Junius fame) created the album artwork for this one and its colorful, retro-sensibility ties the album together perfectly. The LP will come in a heavyweight case-wrapped, tip-on style jacket with a full color, two-sided insert. We'll have a few different vinyl colors to choose from (including black vinyl for all you audiophiles) and also a digipak CD edition as well. We'll also be bringing back the retail exclusive white vinyl version on this one, limited to 100 copies, available only in retail-land on 8/21. But break out your sharpees and walk over to your calendar, cuz we're launching this motherload of all preorder parties on Thursday night, June 28th. Can you dig it? Of course you can!!

IF THESE TREES COULD TALK
self titled 12" repress update

Just a quick update, these rekkidz are shipping to us from the plant this week and we'll have all preorders packed up and shipped out as soon as they arrive :) You'll receive an email from us with tracking information once your order goes out. Feel free to spread the word and thanks so much to everyone that banged out an order :) Remember, the band will be playing in Columbus, OH at Carabar on June 29th and Reggies Rock Club in Chicago, IL on June 30th. You can still order this 12" from us over in our webstore HERE. Booyah!

The Mylene Migration
So we recently completed a move that was pretty grueling, but it's all over now and it's just a matter of unpacking box after box (after box, after box...) and getting caught up on mailorder & customer service. Please spread the word to other people if they happen to mention the seemingly slow mylene mailorder on any other message boards that you frequent. We should be completely caught up by the end of the weekend. Thanks for your patience if you've been waiting for an order or an email reply from us about anything, it's really, really, reeeeeeeeeeally appreciated <3 We're settling into the new place now, here's a pic of the new warehouse set up:

We couldn't get the rest of it in the picture because it's kind of "L" shaped, but we're pretty happy to have a warehouse chandelier in there :) Onward!

The Mylene Distro
So we're looking to rebuild the distro, we sold off a lot of it during the move to help lighten the load we were hauling. If you do a label or are in a DIY band and want us to help sell some of your babies, please get in touch directly with us at [email protected] :) We're open to trades with fellow labels and consignment deals with bands and labels as well. We'll also buy upfront as long as the wholesale price is right and we think we can turn it around quick enough :) But we do a lot of mailorder and our distro is a proven vehicle, so get in touch and lets work together to sell some of your jammy jamz!

The Mylene Message Board
Calling all phpBB3 wiz kids! Do you want to earn a BUTTLOAD of free records from us? Well, we need a little bit of help sorting out some stuff with the design and layout of our message board. This has been the source of a lot of frustration over the past couple months (as you can tell from Mr. Bacon's reaction to the left), and we're looking to get things rectified once and for all! We have a pretty specific vision of what we want it to look like and how we want it to function, but we just don't have the know-how to pull it off, nor the time to learn! If you have implemented a phpBB3 design to a message board before, please get in touch with us at [email protected] so we can hire you to help us out!

Wrap Up
Well, that's it! Told you it was going to be a short one this month! Just to recap real quick, the Constants preorder will get rollin' on Thursday night, June 28th at 10pm for newsletter subscribers, then go live publicly the next day. Aeges is hitting the road next month with Silver Snakes, be sure to get out and grab some limited edition vinyl and a thorough aural ass whooping :) Beneath Oblivion is hitting the road in late August and could use help on a couple of the dates, step up if you can to cement those shows, and be sure to get out to a show they're playing either way <3 And the If These Trees Could Talk self titled repress LP's are set to arrive here next week, so we'll be hustling to get all of those out to you guys as fast as humanly possible :) Happy second official day of summer, get out and get sweaty - you know Kevin would!! See you guys in July!

xoxo,

Lindsay & Joel
