Food Drive
The Treasure Island Chamber of Commerce will be holding a food drive from November 3rd to December 19th. All food will be donated to the St. Petersburg Free Food Clinic - the largest in Pinellas County.
Non-parishable food items most needed: canned vegetables, fruit, meats, juices, dry milk, cereal, peanut butter, granola bars.
When there is a 2 for 1 at your local grocery store, keep one and drop one off at the Chamber!

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT
The Treasure Island Art Guild began meeting in 1957 and was officially organized in 1960. It is the oldest art association in Pinellas County. The Art Guild offers workshops, monthly exhibits, guest artist demonstrations and welcomes participation from beginners and recognized artists.  Meetings are held September thru May. Each month, Art Guild members have the opportunity to display their art to public view in City Hall Auditorium. Art is judged and awarded prizes. Abstract Workshop: Wednesdays, 9am to noon in the Garden Room of the Community Center.
Still Life Workshop: Thursdays, 9am in City Hall Auditorium. Portait Workshop: Fridays, 9am to noon in City Hall Auditorium. Live models. Contact the Guild if you are interested in posing. Workshop Fees are $3.00 for members, $5.00 for non-members. All are welcome. Treasure Island Art Guild

Chamber Opens Welcome Center Kiosk
Starting Monday, November 3rd
Bring your advertising material to the Chamber in order for us to fill the display racks at the new location. Kiosk opens November 3rd.
Hours: 10am - 2pm, Monday - Saturday 107th Avenue Welcome Center Stand alone building across street from Chamber Office
The Treasure Island Art Guild will be displaying a variety of art each day, which will be available for purchase.
Also, the first 4 businesses that would like to advertise their logo on our new sign have the chance to promote their business for $25.00 per month or $250.00 for the year (not including one time printing charge of $20.00). Please call for details.

Chamber Luncheon featuring Dick Crippen

Dick Crippen, former sportscaster and on-air personality, now Senior Advisor to the Tampa Bay Rays, often speaks on sports, motivation and broadcasting. Earlier this year, he toured the area in hopes of generating excitement for the Rays' 2008 season following its off-season make-over. Now Crippen addresses the TI Chamber with a post season wrap up and discussion on how the organization's progress this year will shape plans for next.

Canadian American Week
Official Town Crier Canadian High School Bands The Westlane Musical Performance Tour stayed, as it has for the last 8 years, on Treasure Island while making its way around the Bay Area. Before leaving town, Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated at the TI Community Center with a full house and full bellies.

TI Chamber October Fest
Held Saturday, October 11th
Thanks to all the participants, vendors and volunteers of this year's October Beach Fest! We successfully raised money for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Family Disabilities Network and TI Chamber (to help support future events of this nature).
