Celestial Forecast: Oct. 1-7, 2012

Whatever your sun sign, this forecast will help you choose how to best use the current astrological energies! Events are most powerful on the dates listed. However, their influence will be active for at least several days before and after. All dates and times are in the U.S. eastern time zone.
While everyone is affected by these global transits, you will be most powerfully impacted when moving planets activate natal planets and other sensitive points in your birth chart.
VOID-OF-COURSE MOONS.
It's best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during these times. "Business as usual" is the best strategy for these periods, which occur when the Moon has made its last major Ptolemaic aspect but has not yet moved into the next sign. Learn more here.
10/1, 6:32 pm - 7:28 pm (Taurus)
10/4, 3:45 am - 7:48 am (Gemini)
10/5, 5:09 pm - 10/6, 8:47 pm (Cancer)
10/1 (Mon). October gets a creative kickoff with a pair of quintiles: Venus-Jupiter and Mercury-Pluto. (With Venus in Spotlight-loving Leo and Mercury in artistic Libra, the creative juice is especially strong!) Whether you express yourself through painting, writing or any other creative output, this is a great time to connect with your Muse!
10/2 (Tue). Creative productivity is emphatically supported with Leonine Venus sextile Libran Saturn. This aspect can also act as a stabilizer for relationships and finances.
The Venus-Mars-Neptune T-square that began on 9/29 peaks today.
10/3 (Wed). Venus is in Virgo today through 10/28. This is a good time to scrutinize and fine-tune the details of your relationships, creative expression and finances. You can also examine how you're being of service to others, and whether your energies are being appropriately compensated.
Venus also opposes Neptune today, opening the door for deeper connection to your divine consciousness. Soul-level connection with others is also empowered, but make sure that you can return to an appropriate level of individuation after this deep communion.
10/4 (Thu). Jupiter turns retrograde today, stationing direct again on 1/30. This is a good time for general reflection on religion, philosophy, the meaning of life, politics, and foreign matters. This station takes place at 16°22' Gemini, so anything natally placed in the mid-teens of any mutable sign - Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces - will be strongly amplified through mid-November.
10/5 (Fri). Mercury and Saturn conjoin extremely late in Libra - at 29°56' -- before they both cross into Scorpio today. Mercury will scoot along into Sagittarius on 10/29, but Saturn will transit Scorpio for over two years, through late December of 2014. Mercury in Scorpio is a great time for deep mental introspection, research or detective work. You can also focus your thoughts on the occult, or anything mysterious or hidden. Saturn's transit of Scorpio marks the transformation or destruction of structures that have outlived their usefulness, as well as the arising of new structures whose time has come.
Mercury also trines Neptune today, smoothing the connection between divine wisdom and human intellect.
We've had a lot of T-squares in the last several weeks, and yet another one starts today. With Venus, Mars and Chiron involved, relationships could experience both wounding and healing. At the same time, this is a great time to put the finishing touches on creative projects, and to give or receive creative mentoring.
10/6 (Sat). Feel like boldly going where you've never gone before? With Mars in Sagittarius, today through 11/16, the planet of the entrepreneur and the warrior is in the sign of high adventure! New initiatives in religion, philosophy and foreign matters are also supported.
10/7 (Sun). Misguided fanaticism can be fueled by a Mars-Neptune square, especially with Mars in over-the-top Sagittarius. But this aspect can also support sacred sex and other activities that bridge the physical and spiritual worlds, and energize new forays into spiritual awareness.
