Celestial Forecast: January 23-29
by Benjamin Bernstein Whatever your sun sign, this forecast will help you choose how to best use the current astrological energies! Events are most powerful on the dates listed. However, their influence will be active for at least several days before and after. All dates and times are in the U.S. eastern time zone. While everyone is affected by these global transits, you will be most powerfully impacted when moving planets activate natal planets and other sensitive points in your birth chart. VOID-OF-COURSE MOONS.
It's best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during these times. "Business as usual" is the best strategy for these periods, which occur when the Moon has made its last major Ptolemaic aspect but has not yet moved into the next sign. Learn more here.
1/25, 3:34 am - 4:13 am (Pisces)1/27, 1:12 pm - 1:29 pm (Aries) 1/23 (Mon). January's New Moon occurs at 2:39 AM (02°41' Aquarius). New beginnings in originality, genius, unconventionality, technology, revolution, paradigm shift and humanitarianism are supported.
As the moon conjoins the Sun, it increases the power of the T-square that started on 1/14. And the New Moon's sextile to Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius, makes the whole Aquarian vibe even stronger.
This Full Moon's Sabian Symbol is, "A deserter from the Navy stands suddenly aware of a dawning truth: freedom is never the result of compromise."
In this context, the Navy represents any large, powerful and tradition-bound institution which perpetuates delusional thinking. (Oceangoing activities are ruled by Neptune, whose dark side includes fog, confusion and deceit. Let me also note that I have no issues with the US Navy; I'm just interpreting a Sabian Symbol here!) The deserter is doing the right thing: breaking away from blind acceptance of groupthink and seeing the world from a new, more realistic perspective.
Our deserter is realizing that "freedom is never the result of compromise." So ask yourself what you need to "desert" in order to achieve the freedom that your soul is calling for. The Golden Age now dawning will be characterized by each person following their own intuitive guidance, with order maintained more by synchronicity than hierarchy. Why not choose to be one of the forerunners, and start living your own Golden Age right now?
Capricornian Mercury is trine Mars today, energizing focused thinking and concise, straightforward communication.
Finally, Mars turns retrograde at 7:53 PM today, and will turn direct again on 4/13. Mars' backward turn will take place entirely within Virgo, beginning at 23° and ending at 4°.
