A few years ago, the construction industry was booming. Commercial, residential and industrial growth were at an all-time high. Demand was soaring and competition was scarce. There was enough work to sustain and grow most businesses, which posed an opportunity for new, often inexperienced and "trend jumping" companies to enter the construction market. But as construction and expansion took a backseat to businesses' flailing profit margins, mediocre performing construction companies collapsed in the face of real competition, setting the second-rate companies apart from the experts.
