2011-2012 World Affairs Lecture Series
Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 7 PMAdvantage: How American Innovation Can Overcome the Asian ChallengeAdam Segal, Ph.D., Senior Fellow for Counterterrorism & National Security Studies, Council on Foreign Relations
The emergence of India and China as economic powers has shifted the global landscape and called into question the ability of the United States to compete and maintain its technological lead. In Advantage, Adam Segal makes the compelling case for the crucial role of the "software" of innovation and argues that by strengthening its politics, social relations, and institutions that move ideas from the lab to the marketplace, the United States can play to its greatest economic strengths and preserve its position as a global power. For more information, click here.
This lecture is presented as part of the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy's Ambassador John Price and Marcia Price World Affairs Lecture Series, in partnership with Westminster College's Weldon J. Taylor Executive Lecture Series, American Express, and Wells Fargo. All lectures are free and open to the public, and held in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall at Westminster College.
Overflow parking is available in the neighborhood alongside 1300 East and at the Sugar House Stake Center (1100 E. 1700 South | Salt Lake City, Utah 84105).
