Secretary Clinton Celebrates 50 Years of Citizen Diplomacy
As a proud member of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy (UCCD) Staff and two Board Members attended the 2011 NCIV National Meeting on February 16-19, in Washington, DC.
The National Meeting attracted a record number of participants - nearly 700, including member organizations from around the country, citizen diplomats from around the world, National Program Agencies, and the U.S. Department of State's Office of International Visitors and Office of Language Services.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke at the U.S. Department of State Reception. Secretary Clinton stressed the importance of citizen diplomacy in the 21st century and celebrated the major milestones of the network: the 50th Anniversary of NCIV and the 70th Anniversary of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Taylor Executive Lecture Series and American Express. All lectures are free and open to the public, and held in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall at Westminster College.

2011 International Women of the Mountains Conference March 8-9, 2011, Utah Valley University, Orem, UT On March 8-9 (March 8 is "International Day of Women"), Utah Valley University will hold the international "Women of the Mountains II" conference to explore women's issues in developing nations, usually mountain nations.
