Victoria Butler "For two Tuesdays in April I have had the privilege of taking school children through the Sudan exhibit at the Cultural Celebration Center. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the UCCD. It has been a terrific experience.

The school children ranged in age from three to high school. I also gave a guided tour to a special needs group. The kids were great; they knew the answers to many of my questions.  They also had great questions of their own:  "What animals live in the Sudan?" "How do the Sudanese live in the desert?" I was concerned about the littlest students, but they were the brightest. They loved answering questions and were very eager to share additional information.

The Sudan exhibit is an excellent way for students to learn about cultures different from their own. The photos show so many interesting and different aspects of the Sudan and give visitors a vivid image of the many faces and the incredible geographical landscape of the Sudan.

Such exhibits are a great 'vacation,' in that one gets a look at the wonder of the country. Such exhibits are a positive way for UCCD to showcase the countries that make up this increasingly small world. I was very proud to be a part of the program as a docent."

Many thanks to Victoria Brinton, UCCD Board Member, and Barbara Richards, UCCD Member, for sharing their time and expertise with Utah students.
