When Life is Hectic, Stop and Rest in the Lord
Good Morning Everyone,
I have been feeling on the edge a little bit lately wondering how is everything in my life going to work itself out. I realized that what I needed was some quite time with just me and the Lord. Shut off the sounds of my cell phone, radio, television and computer and just sit in silence. I was lying on my bed and I begin to quote the scripture in the bible that says this; Come to Me all of you who are burden and heavy laiden and I will give you rest. Then it said for us to lay our head upon His Chest for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That was the beautiful part of that scripture knowing that God's chest is my resting place.
For a woman there isn't a better place than to lay on her man's chest it's broad, it's strong, it's comforting yet soft with the warm embrace of his muscular arms wrapped around her waist and her body lies in a fetal position and the rhythm of his heart calms her weary soul.
For a man, there isn't a better place than to be able to lay his head in a woman's lap and feel the stroke of her hands as they brush across his face and she never says a word but she understands his need for rest through every stroke of her delicate fingers and the scent of her sweet smelling perfume she tames the roaring lion in him .
This what God is to us but much, more! This is why we are frustrated, having anxiety, and if one more person say something out of the way it going to be on. The bible says that they refused to enter into His rest;
This is what the Lord says: 'Stop at the crossroads and look around, Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel it's path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you replied, 'No, that's not the road we want to take.' Jeremiah 6:16
God told me to tell someone that the answer you are seeking is in His rest, to overcome this trial you need His rest. To lead, or Pastor a church, to raise that child, to stay in that relationship you are going to need His Rest. For in His presence is the fullness of joy and at His right hands are pleasures forever more. This is intimacy with God. God is seeking true worshippers. This weekend will you worship your phone, texting, emailing, Facebook, news, friends, men, women or will you stop and rest in God.
