Spring Member Night - Dinosaurs!
Friday April 13 from 5:30 to 7:30
On Friday, April 13 we will bring the fun and mystery of dinosaurs to life for the children in your life at Night of the Dinosaur!

Dinosaurs! Kids love 'em! Come to Member's Night for some "dino-mite" fun and feed your child's inner paleontologist. Here is a list of exciting things kids will do at Night of the Dinosaur.
- Help decorate the "Box-a-saurus."
- Dig in the sand for pieces of a dinosaur skeleton you can put together and take home.
- Chip away at a "fossil," like a paleontologist.
- Play the "Size-Up A-Saur" game.
- Make a dinosaur craft or two.
As with all Member Nights, there will be complimentary refreshments. Also, each member child may bring a guest free of charge. This is a members-only event. However, you can renew or take out a membership the night of the event.

State Theatre - Celebration for Young Children
Sat. April 28, Museum Movie - An American Tail - 10 am
Special Hands-On Activities until 2 pm
On Saturday, April 28, we continue our partnership with our friends at the State Theatre. This month at the State, we will also bring some very special activities for the Celebration for Young Children.
We will offer an entertaining and informative short video before the 25¢ Saturday Kids Matinee. In April we'll open for the animated feature An American Tail with a unique science video about the power of whiskers to help rats learn about the world around them. Following the film we'll set up in the lobby with some cool hands-on activities for the movie-goers and all of the other folks who are in downtown Traverse City for the Celebration for Young Children. The science video is made possible through Science Friday and Interlochen Public Radio. Movie-goers who bring a ticket stub from An American Tail to the Great Lakes Children's Museum in the month of April will get half off the price of admission. |

April Toddler Time Schedule
Fridays, 10 am to noon
Toddler Time is offered Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm. It is an opportunity for toddlers to interact with each other and learn through a variety of activities and experiences. Toddler Time encourages toddlers' natural curiosity, enhances fine and gross motor skills, guides appropriate social behaviors, and facilitates essential cognitive growth. Most importantly, it's fun! Toddler Time is included with the price of admission or the cost of your annual membership.

Museum Store Featured Item - Magna Tiles
Children really love the Magna Tile activity in the Great Lakes Room. The various colorful magnetic shapes help them progress from two-dimensional to three-dimensional thinking. The activity helps kids become familiar with geometric shapes, understand basic math and science skills, and experience free-form, creative building. They help build logical thinking, as well as spatial and manipulative problem-solving skills.
The Museum Store is currently featuring clear Magna Tile sets for $15 off the manufacturer's suggested retail price. This discount applies to both the 32-piece and the 100-piece sets.
Members always get 10% off in the Museum Store. |

If children are to keep alive their inborn sense of wonder, they need the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with them the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.
