 DGHI Welcomes New Global Health Master's Students Twenty-three students, representing a wide range of backgrounds, interests and work experience, came to Duke this week as part of the fourth class of the Master of Science in Global Health (MSc-GH). The program equips them with the skills to become leaders in global health by combining classroom and field-based learning and research. The new class includes students from China, Haiti and Kenya, seven physicians and others from around the U.S. who have earned degrees in rural economics, psychology, philosophy, biology, biomedical engineering, English and public health. The group embodies the program's fundamental tenet that a multidisciplinary approach is necessary to address global health challenges.

 Duke Kunshan University Granted Preliminary Approval China's Ministry of Education has granted preliminary approval for the creation of Duke Kunshan University (DKU), a joint venture university formed in partnership with Wuhan University and the city of Kunshan, Duke President Richard H. Brodhead announced last week. DKU, expected to open for the 2013-2014 academic year, will house two graduate programs including the Master of Science in Global Health. DKU will also be home to a Global Health Research Center.
