 Duke Joins Global Effort to Train Rwandan Medical Professionals
Duke School of Nursing, Duke Medicine and Duke Global Health Institute partnered with Rwanda's Ministry of Health to send 11 nurse and physician educators to Rwanda this summer through the new Human Resources for Health (HRH) Program. The ambitious seven-year program, announced by former U.S. President Bill Clinton in Rwanda in late July and includes other top U.S. universities, will support the government of Rwanda in building a high-quality and sustainable health system.

Summer Reading Book Integrates Themes in Global Health
First-year students are getting a dose of global health in "State of Wonder" - this year's official summer reading book. Ann Patchett's novel traces the steps of a 42-year-old pharmacologist whose work takes her to a Brazilian jungle. David Boyd, associate professor of the practice of global health at the Duke Global Health Institute, discusses issues of global health and research ethics in the short video above. There are many opportunities to join the campus-wide discussion of the book this week.
