Greetings!

If you were not able to attend the University Seminar on Global Health presentations by Katia Koelle and Alun Lloyd on dengue fever on October 29, we invite you to watch video highlights on our website.  Our fourth speaker in this series, Ellen Piwoz, of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, gave a fascinating presentation on Undernutrition yesterday. We will have highlights of her talk on our website soon.

This newsletter also highlights a research update from our global health postdoctoral fellow, Eve Puffer, and a recent publication by DGHI Member Anthony So and collaborators on whether developing countries should model their patent laws on US experience.

November brings ample opportunities for interdisciplinary learning about global health, from the Bioengineering Applications for Global Health conference starting on Thursday, Nov. 6, and the Global Blindness Symposium to be held on November 13.

Please continue reading for more information on opportunities and events in global health. As always, if you have information you would like included in this newsletter, please email marsha.green@duke.edu.
