Greetings! |
We are pleased to announce the launch of
the NC Health Disparities Fellowship. This two-year program, created by
the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund and managed by the Duke Global Health
Institute, aims to engage talented mid-level professionals in ongoing efforts
to address health disparities in our state.
We also look
forward this coming week to many opportunities for learning more about global
health. On September 17, Duke's Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) will hold its fall scientific retreat; on September 18 the Kenan Institute for Ethics hosts Terry Fiona
for the Kenan Distinguished Lecture in Ethics; Duke students are invited to the
first Global Health Forum of the year on September 21, hosted by the Duke
Global Health Action Committee, and information sessions are being held for
Sanford's Global Health Policy Program and Global Health Fellows (Sept. 17) and
Duke Engage (Sept 17 and 23).
In addition
to the list of upcoming activities, this newsletter also offers information on
recent news and upcoming deadlines for research and education opportunities,
such as the W.M. Keck Foundation Distinguished Young Scholars in Medical
Research Program, the Robert Wood Johnson Finding Answers: Disparities Research
for Change, and upcoming deadlines for Spring 2009 global health courses.
We
hope you find this information useful. If you have other information you would
like posted in this newsletter, please email Marsha Green at marsha.green@duke.edu | |

Development Indicators report. It is
possible to plot female employment rate against GNP/capita, and watch the
relationship for each country. There are
tons of choices and it is very useful for many purposes. Once selections are
