UPCOMING EVENTS
Greetings!

This week brings a plethora of events related to global health, from the Duke/UNC 15-501 Global Health event at 5:00 p.m. today (April 15) about the impact of the environment on global health, to the Triangle Virology Association Free Spring Symposium on April 18 at the NC Biotechnology Center, to the Nourish International hunger lunch at the Duke Farmer's Market on April 18 and the fundraising effort for global health work in Haiti on Saturday, April 19.  And the pace doesn't slow down: the following week Paul Farmer is coming to Duke on (April 21), Duke's Bob Cook-Deegan will make a presentation at UNC sponsored by Universities Allied for Essential Medicines on April 23, and Tachi Yamada of the Gates Foundation will present a Chancellor's Lecture on April 28.

It is exciting to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of the people who put together these events. The passion for global health at Duke and in the region continues to grow.

We hope this newsletter continues to inform you about these events, and other opportunities for jobs, research, and education in global health. If you have suggestions for the newsletter, please email them to marsha.green@duke.edu.
