UPCOMING EVENTS
Greetings!

April is shaping up to be an exciting month for global health at Duke. We have three exciting speakers coming to Duke to share their views on global health:Tachi Yamata, of the Gates Foundation, will give a Chancellor's Lecture at 11 a.m. on April 28, Paul Farmer will give a public talk on the evening of April 21, and Maria Ines da Silva Barbosa will give our penultimate University Seminar on Global Health today (April 1) at 4:00 p.m. at the John Hope Franklin Center.

In mid-April, Duke's own David Walmer, MD, will present the final University Seminar on Global Health on April 10 at 4:00 p.m., sharing with us his work in reproductive health in Haiti.  Duke Medical Student Matthew DeCamp will speak about Human Rights, Essential Medicines, and Intellectual Property as part of the Trent Center Colloquium Series on  April 8.

For those who want more than lectures, there are plenty of opportunities, from an evening of dance in support of the Bonjour Africa Malaria Project (BAMP) on April 12, to an Evening of Art for Haiti on April 19, to an opportunity to help build bili-lights on April 12-13 and more.

Please check out the full list of events at the end of this newsletter, and investigate the other opportunities listed for education, research and service. As always, if you have events or opportunities you would like to see included in this newsletter, please email them to marsha.green@duke.edu.
