Greetings!

Welcome to October! It is amazing how quickly this past year has gone! The ABNLP Leadership team is busy behind the scenes accessing speakers for our Sydney and Melbourne Forums, building new Member Partners, promoting the ABNLP to various trainers and new members, updating the Code of Ethics and updating the website.

You will notice from this issue of the Observer that it is 'low'on stories - yet, that is a story in itself. A story entilted Progress. We are lucky enough to have on the Leadership Team Russ Ayres who is  helping us to put together a dynamic new website which can be interactive and more useful for members. One of our aims is to provide downloadable presentations from the Forums to be avaliable for sale on the website. This will come from a request from various members who are not able to make the Forums due to location or time. As such, you will see below that we are currently looking for help with this project.

You may recall from a previous email that the Code of Ethics is being updated. The new version, which is avaliable to download on the website will become active 1 November 2008. We encourage you to have a look at it. Thank you to Trudy Wilson who is currently helping us to ensure all of our wording is correct!

Finally, you will receive shortly (next week) an offical invitation to the ABNLP Christmas Cruise taking place on Sunday, 14 December from 11-3pm on Sydney Harbour. We have a lot to celebrate this year, and it will be a pleasure to share this time with you!

Best  regards,

This months topic: Where The Wild Things Are
Speaker:     Brett Lillie - Chiropractor

About the workshop
:
What is Neurophysiology? And how does it affect the way we walk and move?  What makes us different from other mammals? How does our body eat, breath, and multiply DNA all at once? What does balance or stress have to do with posture? Or how we interact?  What can sleep, clumsiness or cold hands and feet, tell us about our bodies ability to respond to a tiger?  Does the modern day lifestyle support our physiology, or are we stuck in survival mode?  Are we just wild animals in living in captivity?

About the Speaker:
Beginning a career in Zoology, majoring in Anatomy and Physiology, Brett discovered and began a career in Chiropractic.  Following a passion for Neurology and answers to chronic pain in today's environment, has led to what can only be describes as a journey! His further studies have taken him from chiropractic paediatrics to the development of movement and posture to spinal rehabilitation and Neurostabilisation as well as temporomandibular (jaw/Dental) dysfunction and to orthopaedics.  All this has taken him from Australia to America, even as far as Eastern Europe; in particular Prague.  He is yet to begin further study into human rehabilitation in 2009.

Come take a walk in the wild, and peak into how our neurology responds to our modern day lifestyle.
Brett currently enjoys being a Chiropractor in the hub of Sydney's CBD and lectures in Neurology at Macquarie University.

The caliber of speakers at the Sydney Member Forums is such that we have had numerous requests to make recordings of the presentations to share with our members.  If you, or someone you know has the ability and the equipment to help us  achieve this, please get in contact the Forum coordinator Simon Fishburne at simon@awakenawareness.com.  If you have a business in A/V production, we would be willing to offer you exposure to our member database in exchange for your help.
