Greetings!
The new Board has been in place for just over a month, and shall I say "we're cookin' with gas!" In early July the Board met for a half-day planning session where we discussed the goals we have for the next year. Each month in the NLP Observer I'd like to let you know what we are doing as a board to improve and stabilize the ABNLP. To start, let me share with you some of our goals:
- Create 10 feeder schools to increase membership within the ABNLP
- Increase membership retention from 47% to 75%
- Winback 25% of expired and non-renewed members
- Build more membership benefits
- Continue to produce exceptional monthly events in Melbourne and Sydney with at least 30 participants each month
We have assigned tasks, agreed on plans and have already begun to get into the swing of things. As the new Chairperson, I am thankful for the initiative and drive of all Board Members. We are all volunteers and it takes a very special and dedicated person to make an organisation like the NLP continue to prosper. Additionally each month in the NLP Observer we will be highlighting one of our Partners from the Partners Program. Do you know that we have over $3000 worth of savings to ABNLP members? Have a look at the ABNLP website <http://www.abnlp.org/7a.html> to see how you can benefit! And, if you know of any companies, products or services that would be beneficial for all Members to access at a discount, let us know so we can contact them and get them on board! We trust this newsletter finds you safe, warm and happy and that your upcoming month will remain that way too.
Best regards,
Heidi Heron ABNLP - Chairperson

This months topic: Laughter is the Best Medicine Speaker: Jackie Curran
About the workshop:
Jackie Curran is a lawyer, conflict coach and group trainer who will
show you how you can laugh easily and every day...... ... for no
reason at all !! You will experience unconditional laughter
which opens the mind and relaxes the body due to the powerful
chemical changes which occur when you laugh. As this laughter does
not rely on jokes or comedy it is a right brain activity rather than
a left brain response. The more you practice it the more you will
laugh. Research has proved you gain many emotional and physical
benefits from laughter.
Jackie's session will combine breathing , fun and playful
techniques which include triggers to activate your right and left
brain and bring laughter from your body. The laughter exercises will
be followed by a unique laughter meditation process, relaxation then
simple meditation, leaving you feeling light and relaxed. A short
DVD will show how laughter and the health benefits that laughter
brings, have spread all over the world. About the Speaker:
Jackie Curran has more than 20 years experiences as a lawyer, having
worked in all areas of legal practice and court matters. She is a
qualified and experienced mediator and arbitrator and a qualified family
and relationship counsellor, conflict coach and group trainer.
As a result of a series of coincidences, Jackie discovered Laughter Yoga
in December 2004. She was fascinated by the idea of laughing without the
use of jokes or humour. After attending a Laughter Yoga workshop in
Williamstown, Victoria, on 12th February 2005 with the founder of
Laughter Yoga, Dr Madan Kataria, she was hooked on the Laughter Yoga
experience. She had never imagined she would be rolling on the floor
with 40 other people laughing until she cried without having been told a
single joke! |

This months topic: Leadership
through Language Mastery Speaker: Anneli Blundel
About the workshop:
Predicting, Motivating and Influencing behaviour
using the NLP LAB profile (Metaprograms). Our ability to communicate
compellingly with others can be the defining measure of our success. By
learning to pay attention to how people talk, rather than what they talk
about, we create a profound opportunity to motivate, predict and
influence the behaviours of those around us.
Join us for a look at how to elicit Meta Programs
based on language, and gain insight into the influencing language that
will allow you to communicate with people, compellingly, on an
unconscious level.
"The limitations of my language are the boundaries
of my world" - Ludwig
Wittgenstein
About the Speaker:
Anneli has enjoyed over 10 years
in management and leadership roles across several industries. Her
specific expertise lies within the retail financial services
industry.
With a passion for the powerful
and pervasive connection of thought, language, and behaviour and the
astounding variety of ways it impacts a person's life, Anneli has long
been a keen observer of the human experience.
Her passion for the study of
human excellence and communication mastery has fuelled her thirst for
best practice performance secrets. She is pleased to combine this
focused study of human behaviour, coaching skills and solid corporate
background to assist organisations to deliver superior sustainable
business results through developing an engaged, passionate and
committed workforce.
