Greetings! |
The leaves are just starting to turn here in New England but I fear that I will, for the most part, miss the glory of our Fall foliage this Season. I just returned from spending the weekend in Wrightsville Beach NC, attending the ASID Carolina's conference where I not only was representing the High Point Design Center, I also was co presenting a seminar with Neville Devlaliwalla, called Social Media and You. I was thrilled for this opportunity to share my voyage thus far into social networking and the value I see in this "trend" of putting yourself out there for people to know you before they do business with you.
I also enjoyed preparing an article for the High Point Market Authority on same topic. Click here to view. With that behind me it is all about preparing for Market October 17-22. Below is low down of where to find me/us and how to get there. |

Where to Find Antiques by Zaar in High Point |
Antiques by Zaar Warehouse/Showroom: 400 Mandustry St, High Point
I am excited to announce that we, for the first time, will be using our 12,000 square foot warehouse as our main venue to showcase our collection. Thanks to Jeff Moore, my in house designer, we have a portion of the warehouse set up in attractive vignettes, with the balance of our collection neatly sorted in aisles. Get a preview of our warehouse by visiting this clip on You Tube. We will be open throughout Market, Saturday October 17- Thursday October 22 from 8:00- 5:00, and following Market, the first Wednesday of each month, and otherwise by appointment. When I am unavailable, Jeff, who is based out of Greensboro, is on the ready to share with you our line.
Aribesque: 114 South Main St, High Point
Antiques by Zaar is thrilled for a new collaboration with Aribesque, a high end bedding and fabric line, that is being showcased in a wonderful loft showroom, right on Main St in High Point. Tracy Krohn, the owner of Aribesque, and I had the pleasure of meeting in person for the first time last week. We share an enthusiasm for our 10 year old businesses and are just as excited about offering our collections to the Trade, at Market and year round. She has a representative selection of our product in her showroom as do I of hers. It is our interest to build off of each other's reputations, mailing lists and respective locations and present and promote our high end complementary lines together. There is no lack of energy and electricity between us and I look forward to seeing what we can do for each other, simply by collaborating.
Makers of fine iron and wood furniture, our Chinese antiques complement nicely this collection, which like Aribesque, is produced in North Carolina. Look for our presence in their English St showroom.
Further Collaborations with HPDC Members:
Red Egg: 207 W High St, High Point New River Artisan: 200 North Hamilton, Suite 301
Feizy Rugs: Market Square, Space 145
Fellow members of the High Point Design Centre, as noted above, all have a splash of Antiques by Zaar product in their showrooms, as well as material/directions for where to see more of same, should their be interest from their customers. Similarly I am excited to direct my customers to the above fine showrooms of my colleagues/trade partners. |

Getting from Here to There |
Although this is Columbus Day weekend coming up, it is also Canadian Thanksgiving, which is relevant, not only as we are a family of dual citizens, but also as all of our children are in school in Canada and as such this is the only Holiday for them between Labor Day and Christmas. My McGill students are being responsible and as such are unable to take time away for the short holiday (exams!) and so I will wend my way to NC by way of Montreal (not really on the way) to visit Zach and Avery and then on to NY to rendez vous with Arianna, (who's exam schedule isn't quite so tight) who will be visiting Mark. From there a direct shot to NC for, what else....Market! Happy Holiday weekend and look forward to seeing you soon. And if you are unable to make it to Market, be sure to connect with me otherwise.
