October 08 issue of Traditional Home magazine, titled "It's Good to be Ching", featuring the genre of furniture we all share a passion for. It is an honor to be included with other companies of high standing in the offerings of Chinese antiques. By way of several phone interviews ,with writer Anne Berman, Mark was able to share his authoritative stance on the genre, with close to 10 years of experience buying for our business. Again, the distinction of our inclusion in this write up speaks well of where Antiques by Zaar is in for this market and we are extremely proud of such | |
Greetings!
The transaction of buying/selling a piece from Antiques by Zaar is what serves as the beginning of a relationship that continues on in many forms. At minimum I am given an opportunity to do what I can to give as much added value to each customer that approaches me. You know, make that personal purchase of an antique (doing so online) even more personal, by offering of myself as much as the customer wants/can handle. Further to this minimum, we use this newsletter as a venue to keep you abreast of what is going on in the abyzaar world, which includes kids, dogs and life/weather in Maine. The "icing on MY cake" is what follows. Indulge me by reading what you do for me.

Being Thanked: Testimonials November 2000. Yes, we were in business. The piece (a traditional red wedding cabinet) was paid for, shipped, received, and the customer was delighted (See her email following receipt.) I took to saving just such emails in a sidebar file I called "Happy Customers" and after a time created a page on my site to post these unsolicited emails, in a section we called Testimonials. It gives me great pleasure to be able to continually add to this section as I continue to receive emails from customers expressing delight in their purchases. Due to the volume of notes included (and my desire to keep them all on the site) we have broken these down by years received. Last year we started to include photos of the piece(s) purchased beside the note, to see what the customer was referring to.Click Here to View our Testimonials. |
Added Punch: Home Gallery Back in 2004 we were being lined up for a spot on a daytime talk show and as part of the presentation (and in addition to having samples from our collection available) we were asked if we had photos of our Chinese antiques in different settings. Rather than grabbing random photos I took this as an opportunity to approach my growing list of customers to send me photos of my pieces in their home. It was a heartwarming response. The TV spot didn't actualize but that collection of photos received became the beginning of my favorite section on my site, that being my Home Gallery. It is here that customers can show case how they have applied our pieces in their homes. It is here that many prospects spend time perusing for ideas on what others are doing with Chinese antiques. And it is now here where you can read the email that came from said customer, either with the photos, or earlier when delivery was made, as we have recently brought these two gifts together, the unsolicited testimonial and the proffered photos. What you bought/Where it went: Past Sales Tucked in on the drop down menu under Testimonials you can see all the pieces (at least the ones that made it to the website) that we have sold in the past 2 years. As you can see we have shipped more than just a few pieces not only to the contiguous United States but also to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and the Bahamas. What you can't see is how many have gone to the same address. Yes, we are grateful for many of our repeat customers and look forward to (in the very near future) featuring them in their own section on our website which we are calling our Galleria of Collectors. September 2004. After a long search Tracy Reese found the perfect cabinet to complete her apartment redo. Problem was that in order to make it for the photo shoot she had scheduled it needed to be on the truck that had JUST left my Maine warehouse. An immediate call to my delivery service to see how we could still make this happen was made, (I e , if I drove it to Boston would it make the run to NYC?) only to discover the truck was only 40 minutes away and would wait for me to load the piece in my SUV and meet them. This push to get the piece to her proved most beneficial to us as it would happen that not one, but two magazines (Suede and Home In Style) featured Tracy and her apartment, with stage centre a red decorated armoire from Antiques by Zaar. Since then we have had the pleasure of being in O at Home, (Good Works Makeover) of being on the cover (twice) for Home Accents Today, of being included in Cottage Living, Casual Living, Furniture Today and most recently Traditional Home.
