Grievance Training in Scottsdale
The Police Officers of Scottsdale Assocaition is hosting a one-day seminar "Surviving Grievances: How to Investigate, Present, Respond to and Resolve Grievances" for union members and others on Feb. 23rd.
The seminar is designed for representatives or others who are involved in, or impacted by, the grievance process such as staff from Human Resources, Personnel, Employee and Labor Relations; Attorneys; Association or Union staff, Board members, Stewards/Representatives or members, Department Directors; elected officials, administrators/managers, or other parties wishing to learn more about effective grievance processing.
Seminar instructor Bob Oberstein has served 40 years on both sides of the labor management table in both the public and private sectors. After several executive and chief spokesperson positions, his most recent position was as the Labor Relations Administrator for the City of Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to that appointment, after several years "in the trenches" Bob became an academic and directed the Labor Management Relations Certificate and B.A. Programs at Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona where he also taught undergraduate and graduate classes in employment and labor law, human resources, conflict resolution, negotiations, grievance processing, arbitration and ethics.
Registration fees are $200 per person or $150 per person if three or more participants attend from the same organization. Fee includes all materials, continental breakfast, coffee, lunch and snacks.
Space is limited and registrations will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Walk-in registrations are not accepted.
