What is Biological or Holistic Dentistry?
It is dentistry that recognizes that the mouth is connected to the rest of the body. A healthy mouth is key to a healthy body, and having toxic materials and conditions in the mouth is a detriment to the whole body.
Holistic medicine is based on the fact that the body is one unit and how you treat one aspect of that unit has an effect on other aspects.
Holistic dentistry is based on the same notion that what affects the mouth affects the body, and vice versa. If infections of the mouth affect the rest of the body, then dental problems can be seen as causes of other aches and pains as well.

Success Stories
Well, I did it! After reading some books regarding mercury fillings in teeth, and speaking to some people on this topic, I wound up at the door of Dr. Behm and had five mercury filled molars and a bridge which contined a metal base removed.
I feel this decision has improved my walking, fatigue and my energy. It has been only 10 days!
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1997 and was gradually getting worse, I am now getting better. Thank you Dr. Behm and your kind staff.
Best regards,
MA
The service I received from Dr. Behm and his staff is excellent. They helped me in making a good decision and gave me very good service.
I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs dental service.
Thank you for your help. David A |

Greetings!
Are you aware of the connection between energy meridians and dentistry?
This is a pretty fascinating thing. Each tooth is an individual organ. As we know, one organ can affect other organs in the body.
Meridians are energy channels that connect seemingly unrelated parts of the body. The mouth is very much connected to the rest of the body through these channels.
So you cannot have toxic materials and/or hidden infections in the mouth and not expect it to affect the rest of the body. Conversely, if one has a problem with another part of the body, it can in fact affect the teeth.
So many times I have had a patient come in with an aching or problematic tooth. In muscle testing them, I find that a distant part of the body is not happy, and is referring pain to the tooth. In many cases, it is parasites, fungus or candida in the colon. In these instances, I suggest the person look at handling the parasites, excess candida, or fungus, preferably with supplements or homeopathics, and see what happens.
In most cases, the patient calls a few days later, very happy to report that the tooth discomfort has gone away! What a win! This eliminates unnecessary root canals or extractions or expensive treatment on a tooth, when in fact that was not where the problem was. The toothache was only a symptom of problems elsewhere.
This represents a whole new step forward in holistic or biological dentistry, and can contribute greatly to overall body health. The moral of the story is that you don't have to kill or remove the tooth to stop the pain.

Today's featured book . . .
Whole-Body Dentistry
by Mark A. Breiner, DDS
Could problems in your mouth be affecting your health?
You are probably familiar with the basics of dental wellness - perhaps you had a cavity filled, a tooth extracted, or a root canal done, and once the problem was treated you did not think about it again. But the consequences of these traditional procedures can often have significant impact on your health.
Whole-Body Dentistry introduces a new approach to dentistry: looking at your mouth as indicator of overall health and a link to illnesses that can attack other parts of your body. If you have health problems and have not found relief through traditional or non-traditional treatments, perhaps Whole-Body Dentistry can unlock the secrets to more complete wellness.
Learn how dental procedures such as root canals and amalgam fillings can affect our physiological sytems - including the immune, cardiovascular and neurological systems - and how alternative treatments can be safer and more beneficial.
Educate yourself about the importance of the physical and energetic relationship between your mouth and body, and become familiar with powerful tools such as electronic stress testing of acupuncture meridians, homeopathy, neural therapy and more.
Share stories of actual patients and discover the profound effect Whole-Body Dentistry has had on their lives and overall health.

A sad note . . .
A true friend of healthy dentistry, George Meinig DDS, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008.
Dr. Meinig wrote the book Root Canal Cover Up. He was a founding member of the American Association of Endodontists (a professional group of dentists who specialize in doing root canals). His book, based on the research of Dr. Weston Price, reveals the extensive studies done on the toxicity of root canal teeth, and their effects on the rest of the body.
I was fortunate to meet him a few times, and actually got an autographed copy of his book, which is a prized possession.
Dr. Meinig was a key pioneer in the advancement of biological dentistry; his work and writings have improved the lives of countless thousands of people. As well, he has influenced me greatly to do the very best biological dentistry that I can.
Root Canal Cover Up is available at our office.
