Celebrating the Sweetness of Life |
Our whole lives we have collected poems as our most prized possession...
we read poems aloud to loved ones by candlelight,
we stuff poems scribbled on napkins between pages of a book to be found at precisely the right moment one day some day,
we email a poem as medicine to someone in distress,
we sooth our aches and heal our heart with poetry,
we ignite our imagination with poems,
we meet ourselves in the alchemy of words,
we feel that yoga is poetry, poetry is yoga.
Poetry & Yoga both ask us to pay attention and offer our presence - to the details, to nuance, to each other.
By being a poetic yogi or a yogic poet, which ever designation you prefer, you strengthen your muscles for kindness, you increase your capacity for intricate metaphoric thought, you open to the appreciation of paradox, you exercise your soul. |

SPECIAL SHIATSU TREATMENTS
$30 for 60 minutes during the month of May!!
Shiatsu is a non-invasive physical therapy that stimulates the body's own healing powers. It is based on traditional and time honored healing principles from the East, and modern anatomy and physiology theory.
Shiatsu consists of specific pressure and stretches applied to the body in order to assess and treat various conditions.
Due to their effect on the nervous system, Shiatsu treatments help relieve stress and pain, as well as improve muscle, organ, and joint function. This deep but gentle approach to preventative health care has many long term benefits for people of all ages.

| Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry.

| LOVE AFTER LOVE
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door,
in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes,
peel your own image
from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

| Sometimes you hear a voice through the door calling you, as a fish out of water hears the waves or a hunting falcon hears the drum's come back.
This turning toward what you deeply love saves you.
