Yoga celebrating the Sweetness of Life

relaxToday I commit to RELAX.

1.  Take a deep breath.  Relax. Enter into the present moment.  Your breathing, so fundamental to life, is a perpetual reminder of nature's commitment to relax, then act.  Take time to quiet your mind and rest your body on a daily basis with conscious breathing and meditation.

2.  Poor sleep results from the mind refusing to let go.  Ruminating over something from the past or worrying or planning something in the future engages the mind, even though the body craves rest.   Restful sleep is an expression of a life in harmony with nature. Getting up early, meditating, eating healthy meals, and engaging in conscious body practises such as yoga are important contributors to restful nighttime sleep.

3. Your desires, intentions and needs engage your body, mind and soul.  In your effort to acquire, acheive and attain, you become consumed with the goal - be it a relationship, a business deal or a material possession.  Maintaining focused attention is a crucial component in fulfilling your desires, but it is only half the story. Letting go is the other essential ingredient for successful living.   When you allow yourself to relax, your awareness expands.  In this expansion, you see things in a broader way that was not possible when you were caught up in your desire.  Alternating intense, engaged focus with expanded, relaxed awareness enables you to fine-tune the trajectory to acheive your goals.  Honor the natural rhythms of action and relaxation.
