Yoga celebrating the Sweetness of Life
ACCEPTANCE - Robert  Frost

When the spent sun throws up its rays on cloud
And goes down burning into the gulf below,
No voice in nature is heard to cry aloud
At what has happened. Birds, at least must know
It is the change to darkness in the sky.
Murmuring something quiet in her breast,
One bird begins to close a faded eye;
Or overtaken too far from his nest,
Hurrying low above the grove, some waif
Swoops just in time to his remembered tree.
At most he thinks or twitters softly, 'Safe!
Now let the night be dark for all of me.
Let the night be too dark for me to see
Into the future. Let what will be, be.

sunsetToday I commit to ACCEPTANCE.

1.  When you resist what is happening in this moment, you are resisting the entire flow of life. Listen to your body and notice where you are resisting what-is and practise softening, relaxing, accepting.

2. Accepting life as it unfolds does not imply that we relinquish our desires for things to be different.  Acceptance means focusing on the present while assessing the choices available to you in this moment.  If there are many possibilities, make the choice that is likely to bring the most evolutionary results.  If there is only one choice, take it.  If there are no obvious choices, relax and accept the fact that for now, you cannot do anything.  Be fully present with the choices available.

3. Accept yourself.  The planet is a school for the evolution of the soul.  If we already knew everything, there would be no reason to attend classes here.  Be accepting of yourself, reinforcing your acceptance with the commitment to learn from your experiences.  Then honor your commitment by making new choices that demonstrate the wisdom you have gained from your lessons.
