Please join Marita tomorrow (Tuedsay, Feb. 17) for a special introduction to Yin Yoga from 9:15-10:45am and 1-2:15pm. (Regular drop-in classes) Yin Yoga is a nurturing, contemplative practise in which we hold simple, supported postures for 3-5 minutes. This creates space for deep physical release and healing, and relaxes the nervous system for meditation. We will be exploring mantra, the art of patience and the meaning of grace.
What is Grace?
-Robert Masters
"Grace - such a lovely word, so effortlessly evocative, being suggestive not only of a dimension of being ordinarily far from accessible to us, but also of a guidance and support preternaturally attuned to our deepest needs. In Grace there is an implication or felt sense of sacred intervention, a not-by-us engineered doing that deeply serves our well-being, often in ways that are far from expected. A serendipitous infusion of more-than-human guidance - this is Grace, however ragged or rough its delivery may be." |

"When the Breath wanders, the mind is unsteady, but when the Breath is still, so is the mind still." - Hatha Yoga Pradipika
Breathing is life. It is one of our most vital functions. In a Yogic point of view, proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital life energy. Pranayama goes hand in hand with the Asanas. The union of these two Yogic Principles is considered as the highest form of purification and self-discipline, covering both mind and body. Explore with us Pranayama techniques and study the miracle of breath, which is also our connection to spirit
