August 8-10, 2008

Greetings!

We are thrilled and honored to be hosting Gurudev Yogi Amrit Desai in a weekend workshop exploring Swasthya using the Amrit Methods of Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

What is Swasthya?

In Sanskrit, swasthya means to abide in the inborn,
self generative, self healing power of our being.
From this inner source flows a healing force
that nurtures and sustains the harmonious and
healthy functioning of the physical, mental and emotional bodies.

In search of the divine we go everywhere; we go to places of pilgrimage, visit temples, follow many paths and disciplines and ignore the body. Our body is the most sacred place of pilgrimage we could ever come to. It is the dwelling place of the divine.

The Amrit Methods of Yoga and Yoga Nidra are experiential techniques that integrate the conflicting stress-producing forces of body, mind and emotions into harmonious unity. You will learn how to enter the alpha brain wave state to activate the healing and regenerative wisdom of your body by:

These methods employ powerful techniques to harness and harmonize the restless mind and enter into the deepest levels of relaxation, tranquility and stillness. They empower you to manage daily challenges in your personal life, professional life, tough transition times and health issues that rob you of your creative vital life force.

You will be empowered to be released from pre-programmed stress-related conditions initiating paradigm shifts from the deepest core of your being, providing you with powerful tools to eliminate stress and banish self-destructive beliefs and habits. Gain new insights that will guide you toward the unfoldment of a new life.

Please join us for these amazing teachings with a true master...

namaste,

Marita and Doris

About Gurudev
Since his arrival in 1960, Gurudev has pioneered an innovative approach to the spiritual dimension of Hatha Yoga. The Shaktipat initiation he received from his guru, Swami Kripalu, led to a profound awakening in 1971. This event totally transformed his life and infused his teachings with the rare ability to transmit the energetic energy of shakti to those who are open and receptive. The methodology he developed has become so widely adopted that today it is taught by more than 5,000 certified yoga teachers in 40 countries. He is the creator of Kripalu Yoga and the founder of the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. Challenges he has encountered over a decade ago have taken him to a greater level of self-discovery, which is reflected in his presence and the quality of his teachings. The depth of his inner work has evolved into the Amrit Method ® of Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Introduction of Amrit Desai by Deepak Chopra

" For 40 years Yogi Amrit Desai has shared his knowledge of yoga in the west. Yogi Desai  is both a pioneer in introducing yoga to the west, but more significantly through his unique style, his method of teaching draws upon the original spiritual depth that is missing in the popular practice of Hatha Yoga.

Yogi Desai's spiritual odyssey began during a spontaneous awakening in 1971. It shattered his old model of yoga and infused him with new insights.

From this experience he developed a spiritual dimension in the practice of yoga postures, incorporating the element of meditation in motion. Meditation in motion is a methodology that has altered the popular connotation of yoga as a physical discipline. Meditation in motion transforms the philosophy of yoga as integration of body, mind, heart and spirit into an experiential reality.

To achieve this Yogi Desai introduced authentic core principles, techniques and tools to help even the novice student enter the deepest levels of relaxation, tranquility and stillness crossing the boundaries of mental and emotional bodies though the physical body promotes not only healing and therapeutic value it greatly enhances the spiritual impact of yoga. Meditation in motion creates a direct link to the integrative power of yoga, an experience in harmony of body, mind, heart and soul occurs spontaneously and effortlessly when you are connected to the higher source of unity consciousness within you.

This experience opens new channels to unleash healing prana that activates the higher centers, the chakras of consciousness. Practicing authentic yoga guides you into systematically crossing boundaries and releasing blocked channels that are held in the physical, mental and emotional bodies. You will spontaneously develop links to the infinite source of healing power, strength and courage as you move toward consciousness."
