"Haven't we all had those moments of startling honesty when we connected to the currency of sharing the truth without pretense - on a long bus ride with a stranger, perhaps, or under the stars on a summer night, or at the sickbed of a loved one? These are holy moments, as we come out of hiding and allow ourselves simply to be truthful with another human being, without trying to be cool" - Rolf Gates

"...just being ordinary in and of itself is an expression of divinity; the truth of one's real self can be discovered through the pathway of everyday life."  -David Hawkins

                                             Patanjali's Path of Yoga

The second Yama: pathSatya
"Satya pratishthayam kriya phala shrayatvam"
                               Sutra II.36 Patanajali
"Be true to your Self, and you will acquire the power of truth.  Whatever you speak becomes so."

The Yamas are five guidelines to help us master our relationship with the external world through our thoughts, words and actions.

One layer of committment to truth in our lives is not lying and being honest in our communication.  This means assessing whether our words are kind, necessary and true. If not, silence may be an option to consider.

This, however, only superficially addresses Satya in our lives since we all see the world differently. The world is really within us, it is a reflection of our consciousness.

The larger committment to truth in our lives then, is living our Truth free of any need for external validation.  What is the truth of our own intuition or own hearts wisdom?  In yoga and meditation we access this inner guidance system, Satya asks us to follow this guidance in our words and actions. Truth in our thoughts means being still enough to notice the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and asking ourselves whether those stories are true, again thinking with our heart rather than our mind.   This is fun stuff...there is so much inner space to explore!!  Live from your own centre, blissfully singing your own sweet song, dancing your own special dance.  As Patanjali states in the Sutra, the practise of being true to ourselves, no matter what other people's or society's opinion is,  will mean that our outer world will begin to mirror that truth.  We realize that we are the powerful creator of our reality when we are firmly rooted in living our truth.

FAMILY CONSTELLATION WORKSHOPS with Markus Peter
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 1-5pm or  SEPTEMBER 29 1-5pm
Family Constellation is profound transformational work to find your roots for life and love within your family, no matter what kind of challenge you are facing.

It is clear that a part of our pain, anxiety, and unhappiness regarding relationships, work and money, even illness, comes from issues caused by entanglements that have evolved in our own family over many generations. Mysteriously, our soul has the capacity to record tragic and unusual events that have burdened our ancestors throughout time, often without our conscious knowledge of them. During our own life, something remarkable happens: out of deep unconscious love and solidarity with another relative, we begin to bear their burden, which was never ours in the first place.

This identification process is at the core of what is called entanglement, and the pain resulting from it becomes the clue to our healing.

In this work, we are guided through the process of uncovering, rediscovering, and finally coming to terms with this innate yet forgotten knowledge. Such resolution allows us not only to let go of the past and find peace at a profound level, but at a practical level as well, to open the door to new dimensions of personal power and energy. Once the formerly hidden flow of love has been released, we start experiencing fulfilling relationships and are in turn able to better help others in their healing process.

The clients pick participants of the workshop to represent themselves, their relatives, and other relevant relationships. The client leads each representative to a place in the room, placing the family members in relation to one another, matching the inner, instinctual picture she or he carries of the family. The use of representatives allows for objectivity and a free and full expression in a given situation.

Once the constellation is established, an extraordinary phenomenon begins to emerge very quickly: each representative starts experiencing the feelings, thoughts, reactions, and body sensations of the specific person they represent. This is a spontaneous process coming out of each representative's soul and heart, defying all rules of logic and reasoning.

The Family Constellation process helps us become aware of hidden, unconscious family dynamics which impose limitations in various ways on our lives. Through this process, damaged and misdirected love can be transformed into a powerful, supportive force which will allow us to reach our full potential. As we become aware of family entanglements, we are then able to understand ourselves better and through that understanding, feel both the inherent pain and joy, and therefore, the richness of life.

This process brings us to a profound kind of resolution, absolutely unique to this form of transformational work. It is based on the purity of observation, with very little talking between the client and the group leader. When we bring presence and intention to this work we can see where the flow of love has been injured and how a resolution can be found.

Just being in a constellation as a representative will invite many new realizations and deeper understanding into your life.

fifth tibetan2The Five Tibetan Rites: Part 5

What are the Five Tibetan Rites?
They are a series of yoga poses developed over the centuries in the monastaries of Tibet.  We recommend them as a powerful daily practice. In 15 minutes you feel radiant and fully alive!

fifth tibetanBegin in downward facing dog, hands firmly grounded, hips lifting to the sky, heels melting towards the earth and the heart centre softening to the thighs.
With the exhale, float the hips forward, bringing the shoulders over the hands and arching the back slightly.  Legs are engaged and heart is open in this upward dog position. With the inhale, extend back into the inverted V posture.  Repeat, flowing with gentleness and care.
This Rite rejuvenates the thyroid gland, adrenals, kidneys and all organs of the digestive system.  It promotes improved circulation and lymphatic flow, stimulates deeper breathing, increased energy and quickens all the chakras.

After completing the Five Tibetan Rites, create time and space for meditation and deep relaxation.  Be grateful for the gifts of your practice.

"All men and all women are connected by an energy which many people call love, but which is, in fact, the raw material from which the universe was built. This energy can't be manipulated, it leads us gently forwards, it contains all we have to learn in this life. If we try to make it go in the direction we want, we end up desperate, frustrated, disillusioned, because that energy is free and wild.  We could spend the rest of our life saying that we love such a person or thing, when the truth is that we are merely suffering because, instead of accepting love's strength, we  are trying to diminish it so that it fits the world in which we imagine we live."   Paulo Coelho
