THE FIVE TIBETAN RITES: PART 3
What are the Five Tibetan Rites?
They are a series of yoga poses developed over the centuries in the monastaries of Tibet and are credited by thousands for everything from increased energy to better memory, weight loss and just looking and feeling younger. At SOL Yoga we have had many magical experiences with the Rites and recommend them as an at-home daily practise. In 15 minutes you will feel radiant and fully alive!
third rite at 5000 metres in "the Saddle" of Mt. Kilimanjaro
Rite number three is done by kneeling on the floor with your body upright and your hands against your thighs. Exhale, bring your chin to your chest. Then, inhale, arch your spine as you gently move your head back. Repeat, working your way over time to 22 repetitions per day.
This posture rejuvenates the thyroid gland, the adrenals, kidneys and and the entire digestive system. It tones and strengthens the abdomen, deepens breathing, and releases muscle tension in the lower back and neck.

Plant Spirit Practitioner is requesting volunteers. Plant Spirit Medicine integrates the ancient wisdom of Classical Five Element Chinese Medicine and Shamanic Healing. Local plants share a potent relationship with us, living in the same part of the world, breathing the same air and being nourished by the same soil. Our plant relatives are generous and helpful, offering us food and medicine. Like us, plants have spirit and when called upon for help, enter our process, skillfully adjusting flow, intensity, fluidity and alignment at physical, mental and spiritual levels. Plant Spirit Medicine brings us into harmony and balance. It is the shaman's way with plants.
Kate is seeking individuals who wish to volunteer for a traditional plant spirit assessment. Appointments are available on Sunday and Monday afternoons at Sol Yoga Centre and take approximately 2.5 hours. call 604.536.4831 to schedule.

| SOL thoughts
Linus: "I guess it's wrong always to be worrying about tomorrow. Maybe we should think only about today.
Charlie Brown: "No, that's giving up. I'm still hoping that yesterday will get better,"
:-) Charles Schultz, Peanuts
We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of time and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible in life, as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom. -Anne Lindbergh
"Don't think in terms of comfort; think in terms of freedom. Don't think in terms of safety, think in terms of being more alive. And the only way to be more alive is to live dangerously, is to risk, is to go on an adventure. And the greatest adventure is not going to the moon - the greatest adventure is going to your own innermost core." ~Osho | |
