Board Of Directors Activity
The Board of Directors, committee chairmen and other Chamber members met on October 23rd and 24th for the annual Chamber Retreat. The activities and programs of the Chamber were reviewed by the group. Those present were able to brainstorm ideas for the Chamber's Program of Work for 2010. Some of the items discussed were:
- A new Program Committee of the Chamber to help plan all events
- The creation of an Education Committee to reach out to the schools and encourage business interaction for students
- Marketing and communications about Chamber activities to the general public and the membership
- Promotion of our members' businesses
- Mentoring programs to help facilitate involvement
- Retention of existing members and recruitment of new members
- Facility improvements
- Additional benefits we can offer our members
Your Board is working for you to fulfill the mission of the Chamber. The mission of the Chamber is to promote, develop and facilitate a strong economic environment in which the business community can grow and proposer.

PUBLIC COMMENT OPEN HOUSE ON
WOODS CHAPEL INTERCHANGE PLAN
City and State officials will hold an open house meeting to get public comments on plans for improvements on Woods Chapel Road.
The meeting is on November 12th from
4:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the multipurpose room of the Howard L. Brown Safety Building, 1100 SW Smith St.
The improvements are planned for Woods Chapel from Interstate 70 to south of Briarwood Dr. The project team will be on hand to answer questions.
