Greetings!
Boy how time flies! It is hard to believe that it is already May and I have been here a full month.
What I have found in the month I have been here, is an abundance of energetic and excited people who care about Blue Springs and who care about the Chamber of Commerce. What a wonderful place to start.
If I have not had the chance to meet you yet, please stop by the office and introduce yourself to me. I am looking forward to hearing ideas that you have that will make our Chamber better.
We have a variety of committees that meet regularly at the Chamber office. We are in the process of reviewing our current committees and their goals and objectives. We are also evaluating the needs of you, our members, to see what other programs and services might benefit your business. As we move through this process, we will need your input. It will take all of us working together to make this Chamber of Commerce the best it can be.
I look forward to meeting you.

| Information for your business...
Missouri Businesses Must Renew Names
Did you know that a change in state law means that businesses must renew their fictitious name registrations.
Any fictitious business name, or the name the business uses to operate, filed on or before Aug. 28, 2004, must be renewed by Aug. 28, 2009, or the registration will expire, and the business will not be able to legally operate under that name in Missouri.
Names registered after Aug 28, 2004 will expire five years after the date they were filed.
The Missouri Next Generation Jobs Team
will connect youth and young adults to an exciting work experience at your business this summer.
The best part of this opportunity is that the government pays as part of the federal recovery act. This opportunity is available between May 1 and September 30, 2009.
The Ike Skelton Procurement Conference
will be held Friday May 29th from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the University of Central Missouri in Elliott Union. The purpose of the conference is to help small businesses learn how to compete for government business by giving them the opportunity to meet and talk with government and business representatives. Admission is $49.00. For more information,
contact Shirley Krzesinski at 660-543-4402. |
