Greetings!
It may not be politically correct but.... Merry Christmas!
As we prepare to close the books on 2008 and make preparations for 2009, we are reminded of how very blessed we are. We have challenges and struggles, but we have so many things to be thankful for too.
Take a moment, and call someone that has been a blessing to you, in your personal life or in your business. Wish them well for 2009, and ask them what you can do to make their new year better. Tell them what they mean to you, and that you're thankful for them.

State of the City...
When Citizens Speak
At the November monthly luncheon, the Chamber was honored to welcome Mayor Carson Ross as he presented his first "State of the City" address.
Chamber members and guests were treated to an informative and upbeat presentation that focused on the citizens priorities for Blue Springs and how our city government is working to achieve those priorities.

"Operation St. Nick"
The Women's Civic Club of Blue Springs is once again sponsoring visits from Santa in Blue Springs and Lake Tapawingo. "Operation St. Nick" brings a superbly clad santa to individual homes on Christmas Eve. He will deliver gifts left out on the front porch and will have a small "treat" for each child visited.
The deadline to submit applications is December 17th. Applications are available at the Chamber Office. For further information contact Lynn Prine at 816-229-2808 or Jennifer Casey at 816-224-0907.

A Succesful Legislative Roundtable
With close to fifty in attendance, Senator Bartle along with Representatives Pratt, Dusenberg and Yates welcomed suggestions and input from the business community. Topics included taxes, toll roads, budgets and funding for education and social services.
Our sincere thanks to our elected officials and to the members who participated.
Our next Legislative Breakfast will be February 6th, 2009 at the Country Club of Blue Springs.
