Greetings!

It's hard to believe it's already fall!  It seems
like this year is just flying by.

The Chamber Board of Directors are moving forward with strategic planning,  and are carefully evaluating the programs and services we provide to you, our members.

Watch for details on upcoming opportunities
for you to provide valuable input in this very important planning process.

We are excited about the future, and look forward to serving the needs of the business community in and around Blue Springs.

Sincerely,

Dena McLean

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers!

Festival It was wet and windy at times, but we survived!

We can't even begin to say thank you enough for all of the support we received from our members, the community, our incredible security team, parks & recreation staff,  the police department, the fire department, and the vendors.  The planning for next year begins soon.  If you would like to join our festival committee, contact the chamber office, bschamberinfo@bluespringschamber.com.

Rockin' Eastern Jackson County
Community Services League
Whether you're a "Booking Agent" or "Stage Manager", "Opening Act" or "Friend of the Band", "Groupie", "Roadie" or "Fan", everyone receives an ALL ACCESS PASS to a fun-filled evening with live music, dancing, great live and silent auction items, peace, love, and Rock & Roll.  Natalie Helm, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Community Services League, has planned a "Rockin' Evening of Hope" which will be held on Friday, October 17 at Adams Point Conference Center at 1400 NW Coronado Drive.  In its 12th year, this gala raises money for the general fund.

Today, Community Services League is the oldest and largest emergency assistance agency serving low-income families and individuals in Eastern Jackson County, and is the only local provider of emergency services in many of the communities served.  In 2007, CSL served 19,031 households in Blue Springs, Buckner, Grain Valley, Independence, and Oak Grove - 1,877 individuals received counseling services, $374,367 in financial assistance, and food valued at $525,418 was distributed.  CSL also helps with school supplies and Christmas gifts.

The "Rockin' Evening of Hope" starts at 6:00 with a social hour and silent auction preview.  Dinner and presentations are at 7:00 with Zeke Montana at the microphone as emcee.  At 8:00, auctioneer Ed Stanger begins an exciting live auction with, among other items, a "Best of Hyatt Mexico" package which includes round-trip airfare for two and five nights at your choice of Hyatt in Cancun or Acapulco and a "Hyatt Key West Resort" package with round-trip airfare for two, and four nights at the Hyatt Key West Resort in Florida.  Finally, enjoy rockin' the night away with the Michael Beers Band as they play all our favorite rock'n'roll music from 8:30 until 10:00!  For reservations, call 816-254-4100, ext. 309 or go online at www.blacktiekansascity.com.
