Gravatt received storm damage... we need your help with recoveryOn the morning of April 5, Gravatt experienced massive thunderstorms that included hail and heavy winds. At the time we had over 60 guests on the property. Thanks be to God, no one was injured in the storm. Gravatt received damage to several structures and a large number of trees. Power was out at the camp most of Tuesday, and we were without water through Wednesday morning. We are working with insurance to assess the damage and are grateful to staff and volunteers who have already begun help with clean-up efforts. Our insurance deductible is $5000, and insurance will not cover removal of trees that fell but did not damage structures. We need your help. Here's what you can do: - Donate money to help Gravatt meet the $5000 deductible and cover the costs of tree removal not covered by insurance.
- Volunteer your time to help with clean-up of debris.

Go Fish!
Join us on April 17, 2011 for fun, fellowship, and fishing at the 2nd Annual Gravatt Bassmasters Fishing Tournament. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit camper scholarships and the Gravatt Environmental Education Program.
This catch and release tournament is family friendly so take this opportunity to share the outdoors with youth you care about. Adults only teams welcome too. Your two-person team can choose to fish from the bank, from a Gravatt canoe, or you may bring your own boat (trolling motors only). Awards will given to the overall team winner, individual overall winner, biggest fish, and smallest fish. The tournament will begin at 9 am with registration and will conclude with an afternoon cookout. Registration fees range from $40 to $80 per team and include lunch, prizes, and t-shirts. Last year every participant left with a prize! Accommodations are available for those wishing to spend the night.
For more information or to register, call 803.648.1817 or visit our website. Keep up to date with tournament news on the GEEP Facebook page.
