Getting Ready for Summer!
Can you believe that summer camp starts in just five months? It seems like we just left! If you were to visit camp right now, you'd think that all things camp related were waiting quietly for next summer. The truth is that the behind-the-scenes activities of camp are in full swing. Presentations are being given in churches and in schools to introduce folks to the world of Gravatt; staff are applying for positions; scholarship funds are being raised; campers are registering; we;re repairing facilities and planning programs; the list goes on. It's a flurry of activity that most people forget takes place during the school year.
Check out what we've got planned for this summer! We will have our traditional elementary and junior high sessions. Back by popular demand is the all ages session for 1st through 9th graders. We've made our senior high week a day longer because the campers from last summer requested it. The Counselor-in-Training leadership program is becoming more popular. And Family Camp is a great opportunity for the whole family to get a taste of camp life - one parent and one child, or bring the whole family along. You can register for camp online at www.bishopgravatt.org.
So, while you may think that the winter months at Camp Gravatt are slow, they're not. We are busy planning great things for the 2010 summer. Our leadership team is already excited, and we want you to be excited too. Register online and spend some time with us this summer. Learn more...

Bassmasters Fishing Tournament
Join us on July 31, 2010 for fun, fellowship, and fishing at the 1st Annual Gravatt Bassmasters Fishing Tournament. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit camper scholarships and the Gravatt Environmental Education Program.
This catch and release tournament is family friendly so take this opportunity to share to the outdoors with youth you care about. Your two-person team can choose to fish from the bank, from a Gravatt canoe, or you may bring your own canoe boat (trolling motors only). Awards will given to the overall team winner, individual overall winner, biggest fish, and smallest fish. We have already received confirmation of prizes from great companies like Red Bone Alley, Mountain Khakis, and Coast Apparel. Learn more...
