It's the spark that makes you think.

Greetings!

Spring is here. April has begun. And MMSC starts our April line-up this weekend!

And it all starts this coming Saturday with another hilarious MMSC encore, Murderers by Jeffrey Hatcher, in a free performance at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh.

And then we move on to Cold Buffet on April 17 and Best of Friends on April 23.

Hope to see you in April!

Murders

by Jeffrey Hatcher

Directed by Christine Crawfis.
Featuring Michael Frohnhoefer, Elizabeth Barrows and Rosemarie Navarra.

Gerald, Lucy and Minka have all been very naughty! In fact, they are murderers. They also happen to be residents of Riddle Key Retirement Community in Florida. That these disparate characters committed murder is not in question, but as for why...well, that is left up to the slightly twisted imagination of playwright Jeffrey Hatcher. Hatcher's keen and
offbeat sense of the ridiculous thrives among the cul de sacs, manicured lawns and electric golf carts.

You may or may not be a murderer yourself, but everyone will ultimately be charmed by this glorious evening of crime.

7 PM.
Admission is free.

MMSC's Audience and Actor Challenge

Past Cold Buffets were such fun that MMSC has decided to mount another "rematch." Can you take up The Challenge?

In the great tradition of Antiques Roadshow and Survivor, our pledge to our audience is to once again assemble a group of our finest readers on one single evening and our challenge to our audience is to bring in a favored piece of reading material for these talented folks to read "cold" on that night.

Favorite moments from past Cold Buffets include Don Wildy reading from Fox in Sox, Ron Schade reading the section on "Persistent Coughing" from the Home Medical Encyclopedia, Richard Cattabiani and Bruce Pileggi reading Abbott and Costello's classic "Who's On First" , Sean Marrinan reading wine descriptions with just a hint of sarcasm, Janet Nurre and Jack Kroll reading He Said/She Heard and the whole gang reading those hilarious Church Bulletin Bloopers.

Whether serious or hilariously funny, MMSC's Cold Buffet evenings are always a big hit with audiences and actors alike. Come one, come all. No muss. No fuss. Bring your favorite poem, a treasured sonnet or just a page from the Yellow Pages.

You bring 'em. We read 'em.
(That's the MMSC Cold Buffet motto. Put us to the test.)

Mauritius
by Theresa Rebeck

Stamp collecting is far more risky than you think. Two estranged half-sisters discover a book of rare stamps that may include the crown jewel for collectors. One sister tries to collect on the windfall, while the other resists for sentimental reasons. In this gripping tale, a seemingly simple sale becomes dangerous when three seedy, high-stakes collectors enter the sisters' world, willing to do anything to claim the rare find as their own.

Featuring Janet Nurre, Elizabeth Barrows, Rich Hack, Thom Webb and Joseph Jervais-Gayton.
