HealthLink - Celebration and fundraiser

Dear Friends of HealthLink,

The work continues:

1. HealthLink is in settlement discussions with Dominion regarding the lawsuit filed by us and Conservation Law Foundation alleging violations of the Clean Air Act. Please continue to send photos of the power plant's dirty emissions to us, as they provide important visuals documenting opacity violations.

2. We have recently joined a state-wide coalition with Clean Water Action, Conservation Law Foundation, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Neighbor to Neighbor, and others intending to end coal use in Massachusetts by 2020! Our environmental allies consider the success of shutting down the Salem Harbor Station as inspirational

CWA award
HealthLink accepts the Clean Water Action John O'Connor award for Grassroots Leadership, 10/1/2011.

3. Planning for Salem State University Earth Days 2012 has begun, this year's theme: Our Oceans. The community is welcome to the events being scheduled for the week of April 9 -13, with Friends of Earth awards on April 19. Stay tuned!

4. HealthLink takes a stand for solutions to clean energy and we support wind turbines on Cape Cod, in Salem, Lynn and other places where the proposals are well vetted and make sense.

Here's how you can help:

1. Take photos of the power plant with obvious violations and send them to: healthlink@healthlink.org

2. Join HealthLink and the steering committee for Salem State University Earth Days 2012.

3. Participate in meetings and discussions state-wide.

Come to learn more about the big picture :

1. HealthLink continues to work with Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow on policies and legislation to reduce poisons in the environment. To help with this endeavor, or any other, contact us and we'll draw you in!

2. Do you know a college student, graduate, or grad student who would like to actively address climate change solutions? Here are a couple of summer programs. (Note: application deadlines are soon.)
