Dear 'Links,

We are thrilled with the economic analysis of the ISO which points the way to remove this dirty coal plant from our midst. (articles follow). This marks a milestone for clean air and an investment in a sustainable energy future. We will work with our allies towards the building of the new transmission lines in a timely manner which will connect us up with clean sources of power.

Yes, the fossil fuel era is coming to an end and Salem's shutdown is leading the way. We envision an end to subsidies for oil, gas, uranium and coal. The tragedy of Japan's nuclear disaster and their resultant commitment to sustainable energy steps, announced today, up the international race to a clean energy future. The US needs to fully commit to this race for energy independence and support local jobs.
