Dear 'Links,

You are invited to celebrate Earth Day at a special evening program at Salem State College!

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH RECEPTION & AWARD CEREMONY

 Vets Hall, Ellison Campus Center
Salem State College
 Wednesday, April 22
 6 PM

The social hour begins at 6 PM (with desserts, coffee, appetizers, music and an environmental book display). The award program runs from 7:00-8:30 PM. JAN SCHLICHTMANN will be honored (of Civil Action fame/Woburn contaminated groundwater) and accept an award with others for the cleanup of the toxic fly ash from Wenham Lake.  Jan will also make comments, as will State Rep. Lori Ehrlich and the 3 Beverly activists who started this environmental activism long ago.

Also being acknowledged is Barbara Warren of Salem Sound Coastwatch who will also give a short presentation and Kerry Mackin for her tireless and very competent work to protect Salem and Beverly's water supply, namely the Ipswich River.

Join in the celebration! It's fine if you arrive late. Please come and acknowledge our local activists and their important work on the North Shore and beyond to protect our environment and public health!

Parking is available to guests in the faculty parking lot, off Lafayette Street.
