Who are we?

Squamscott Community Commons is a community center and YMCA to be built on Linden Street in Exeter abutting the new Little River Nature Preserve.  Recreational, cultural, social, educational and health resources for people of all ages, needs and interests will be housed under one roof.  Your support and donations can transform the lives of over 55,000 residents in this area.  This will be the true center of vitality for our whole community!

What are we doing?

Squamscott Community Commons is operating a capital campaign to construct an 80,000 square foot community center serving Seacoast NH.  The Commons will be home to a full-service family YMCA and agencies that provide programs and services in health, wellness, arts, culture, nutrition, childcare and recreation to the region.  When completed, the facility will include two indoor pools, a gymnasium, fitness center and indoor running track, and outdoor walking trails offering public and recreational access to the Little River.

The integrated and sustainable design of this centrally located facility will create increased awareness of and involvement in charitable organizations by the public who use it. Participating agencies, local businesses and health services will benefit from new partnerships and collaborative ventures that will enhance the community that they serve. The community center's operation will be funded through fee for service programs and lease revenue from participating nonprofits. With sound planning and design, our multi-tenant center will build capacity and reduce operating costs for its agencies. The agencies, in turn, can focus on what they do best: providing good programs and services for our community.
