We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jana Ray as our new Director of Sales & Marketing. With more than 20 years of hospitality experience in both independent and branded properties, she is responsible for implementing sales and marketing strategies to drive business for each of Mariposa's distinct product lines; private charters, public dining cruises and scenic harbour tours.

Jana brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked in Florida for over a decade for industry leaders such as Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Most recently, Jana has provided extensive consulting and contract services for a number of venues including Gunther Von Hagens' BODY WORLDS, the Buffalo Museum of Science, and the midwest's largest music festival, Milwaukee's Summerfest.

With a new season and new team members comes another exciting new development. Our majestic flagship Captain Matthew Flinders, the grandest of all ships in Toronto, has been renovated and is ready for the 2011 season.

With concept design by Avalon Interiors, the Flinders' new interior colour palette showcases her classic nautical beauty through 144 ft of unparalleled luxury. Her original custom build now reflects a more transitional style, featuring a bright and welcoming entrance foyer with warm, honey-toned wall panels, lush wool carpeting in rich indigo hues, classic marine striped valances and stunning bronze-flecked quartz counters showcased in a soft blue light to compliment the Tasmanian myrtle hardwood bars.

The Flinders' interior is lit with clean white lighting using the latest environmentally conscious marine LED technology, giving her the smallest carbon footprint of any vessel of comparable size in Western Lake Ontario. And if that wasn't enough, an incredible sound system that boasts over 80 speakers throughout the ship has been installed to provide clean, crisp and well-balanced sound throughout the vessel. Complemented by a range of new menu options from our outstanding food and beverage department, as well as our professional sales managers and event coordinators, we look forward to hosting your private charters aboard the Flinders and our fleet this year!
