The SBISD Board of Trustees members are January's Volunteers of the Month. Gov. Rick Perry has proclaimed January as annual School Board Recognition Month. In recognition of the month, SBISD's Board members were honored for their many volunteer hours working as Trustees, as well as their dedication to mentoring students and working on education-related causes ranging from education issues with the Texas Legislature to student social and emotional learning and college preparation. The seven members of the Board serve without pay. A special donation in their honor is being made to the district's ongoing Dictionary Project. |
