Despite realignment changes in divisions, the classic football rivalry between Memorial and Stratford high schools kicked off the athletics season Aug. 25 at Darrell Tully Stadium. Memorial won the annual match up 14-0 on the first night of the SBISD high school football season.

About 75 volunteers of all ages met at Sherwood Elementary on August 26 to help faculty and administrators prepare for the new school year.
The third annual church volunteer day was the biggest ever, and it resulted in improvements ranging from the reroofing of the prekindergarten's sandbox to repainting of the drive used for student drop off and pick up.
