Donations to families mark holidays
Like many campuses here, Spring Woods Middle School conducted an annual donation for families in need. The event at Spring Woods Middle was organized by Principal Cynthia Chai and Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church's adult volunteer program director and former SBISD staff member Mary Card and church members and volunteers. The church volunteers are integral to the middle school's highly successful mentoring program.

Communities in Schools Director Lucy Rainey interviewed families to determine needs. Memorial Drive Presbyterian provided donations, which included household items, toys and food. Volunteers bought and wrapped gifts. Families picked up their designated gifts on Dec. 19 in the school library.
