Eat Right While Traveling
Whether you're flying, driving, or taking the bus you don't have to put
your current healthy diet on the back burner. One way to make sure you
are eating healthy while traveling is to pack a brown bag full of
goodies for the trip. Raw fruits and vegetables,
string cheese, bottled or boxed juices and nuts are some delicious
choices. In the cooler place plenty of bottled water,
cartons of milk and juice. Some other healthy food choices while traveling are energy
bars, fig bars, whole fruits, peanut butter crackers, raisins, and trail
mix.
If you're traveling by plane it's no big deal to get a
healthy meal. Food portions on airlines are extremely small but some are
still loaded with calories. Instead of eating what you're offered order
yourself something different. Simply call at least 24 hours in advance of
your flight and you can order a kosher meal, vegetarian dinner, low-fat selections and even
low-cholesterol choices.
While traveling by car it's easy to opt for a
quick burger joint than to take the time for a sit-down meal. Resist
the urge to stop at burger drive-thru's and choose a restaurant with a
menu. The menu will give you many more healthy choices than the burger
dive. And, you're much less likely to feel sick on your stomach, as many
people do while traveling, if you choose the healthy meal over a
greasy, fat-filled selection.
There are lots of healthy
foods that are now packaged for travel convenience. Check your grocery
aisles for these meal packs and you'll be able to maintain your diet no
matter where you go.

How Do I Get a Flat Stomach While In a Wheelchair?
 1. People in wheelchairs need a slightly different diet. It is really easy
to pack on more calories than you need if you eat 'normal' diets. A dietitian or nutritionist with experience in this area can help. 2. Any exercise is better than nothing. Push-ups, small barbells, chin ups,
swimming, pushing the chair uphill, etc. Look for the harder way to do
things. Get your heart rate up for several minutes in a row several times
a week- the more the better. You can also make a great home gym from bungee cord like a Stretch Tubing Set. 3. 'Flat stomachs' are partially a scam. The stomach of a healthy, fit,
normal person is generally not flat, but we have become convinced that
the stomachs of fitness models is the 'norm', when it is really a little
bit of a freak of genetics. A '6 pack' is even less likely for most of
us- we just don't have the genes. |
