Friday, February 24
6:30 PM - Kabbalat Shabbat
NO 8:00 PM SERVICE
Saturday, February 25
9:00 AM - Chevra Torah
10:30 AM - Downstairs Minyan, after Chevra Torah
Downstairs Minyan offers a casual, intimate, musical Shabbat morning observance that meets in the Axelrod Chapel. Honor a yahrtzeit, pray for the healing of a loved one, become more comfortable with your prayer book Hebrew, or simply come to tap into the peaceful energy of Shabbat.
Parashat Terumah concerns building the 1st Sanctuary or the Tabernacle. As the Israelites continue to wander through the Sinai desert, Moses instructs them each to bring a Terumah or free will donation for the building of the sanctuary. Specific gifts are suggested. God says to Moses, And let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them. Instructions for the architecture of the sanctuary are detailed. Moses is instructed to build a menorah or lamp stand of pure hammered gold to hold seven lamps. As for the
sanctuary itself, Moses is given details of its size, the material to be used in its construction, and instructions on how to assemble it.

Important Notice to NS and RS Parents:
The safety of our families is of paramount concern. Cars that are double parked on Willow Avenue during Religious School or Nursery School drop-off or dismissal are creating a serious hazard for both the drivers and the children. In the past, the Temple has urged parents not to double park. We are doing so again now. Furthermore, we are putting all drivers who double park on notice that the Temple has urged the Larchmont Police Department to issue summonses to drivers that do so.

Susan's Place Shelter
On March 4th, we plan to have an outing to a women's shelter in the Bronx run by Care for the Homeless. This is a shelter where women with emotional and health issues stay temporarily until permanent housing is found. We would like to have a beauty day where we do nail and hair and bring costume jewelry and accessories for them. We can carpool and caravan cars from Larchmont Temple. It would be 2:00 to 4:00 PM, in the afternoon. Email Linda Riefberg if you are interested in going, so we can get an idea of the number of volunteers who would participate. We welcome teenagers to help.
Hope Soup Kitchen
We have had great success with our cooking dinner for the Hope Soup Kitchen. Our next dinner is Monday, March 19th. We need volunteers to help serve on Monday, to help cook in the Temple kitchen Sunday afternoon, March 18th and to make meat loaf at home. If you are interested in helping, email debschleien@gmail.com, and she can give you the specifics of what to bring and where and when to bring it! We appreciate all the home cooks who have shared the joy of cooking with the Hope Soup Kitchen and welcome new volunteers to this effort.
The next Midnight Run is March 31st
Please let us know if your group (class, girl scout, boy scouts, team etc.) would like to volunteer to make lunches for this run. Also, we need about 100 knapsacks and pairs of sneakers for every run and we rely on people to donate those items as well as hooded sweatshirts and jeans. Please email Linda Riefberg or Jeff Rosenzweig if you want to drive, make lunches or soup.
