Ministerial Musings: A Mother's Day Prayer
Whether or not we are mothers, we all have mothers,
mothers whose bodies nurtured our bodies
as they emerged in the darkness,
mothers whose thoughts and feelings
swirled through the currents of the womb,
mothers whose oxygen breathed into us

|Our NEW Summer Services
This summer Unity Church has something new! We have seven Sundays without Rev. Tess, and we have seven principles. This was too perfect a match to pass up, so during this summer let's celebrate our Seven Principles.
The Worship Committee is so excited to try this more intimate, slightly shorter, hopefully cooler, Sunday Worship with you! This is a great way to become more familiar with the principles if you are new to our Faith, or to return to the roots if you've been here a while.

| Annual Congregational Meeting
Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 11:45 am in Parish Hall
Just as with civic voting, it is important for church members to be present and to participate in our governance process by attending the Annual Congregational Meeting, hearing updates on the health of our operations, and voting on these leadership positions.
Though all may attend the Congregational Meetings, it is important to remember that only Voting Members may cast votes on items in the Warrant. Click the links below to find information about:
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact Frank Smith at email@example.com or 617-899-6025, or Chris Pender at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508-238-9181.

|Unity Kids to Hold a Clothing Swap
As a social justice project, the children of Unity Church will hold a Clothing Swap on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in Parish Hall. All are welcome to bring items of clothing they no longer want or need, and in turn are welcome to take home the same number of items. You may also donate without taking items in return.
Any items not taken during the exchange will be donated to A New Day, who provide free and confidential counseling and advocacy to all individuals impacted by sexual violence and/or relationship violence.
Donations may either be brought on the day of the exchange, or dropped off to Deanna Greenstein on Sunday's leading up to the exchange. This event will be open to the public, so please feel free to let your friends and family know!
For more information, please contact Deanna Greenstein at email@example.com or 857-829-3285.
|Unity Member, David Mudd to Receive the "Michael & Kitty Dukakis Humanitarian Award"
On Thursday May 17, Massasoit Community College will celebrate 28 years of "making our world a better place, one young person at a time", including recognition of David Mudd.
"A little more than 2 years ago an earthquake devastated Haiti killing more than 300,000 and leaving more than a million homeless. The call went out and a few responded. Dr. David Mudd had been an emergency room physician for 10 years but nothing could have prepared him for the unimaginable destruction and suffering that he would encounter in the impoverished island nation." | Unity Unites for the Relay for Life|
I wanted to build a team for the annual Relay For Life, in which I participate each year, and found some interest here at Unity Church. So, we WILL have a team, named Unity Unites, and stationed at the Mansfield Relay (Jordan Elementary School) on June 15th at 5:00 pm to June 16th at 10:00 am.
There will be games and activities for all ages and a glorious Luminaries Ceremony, with a silent walk that is amazing.
How can you help, you ask? Well there are many ways to help and participate. You can do one or more of the following:
- Donate money
- Walk in the relay
- Help collect donations, by joining our team
- Bring food to our walkers
- Stay for an hour .... Stay all night, your choice
- Buy and decorate a Luminary bag for the ceremony (all donations go to the team fundraising)
Are you interested yet? Good! Here's what you need to do:
- Click the link below, or copy and paste it into your Internet Browser and sign up.
- Contact the Team Captain (Jennifer Gold), if you would like to walk or buy a bag.
- If your children would like to participate and are under 18 years of age, contact the Jenn.
For more information, please contact Jenn, the Unity Unites Team Captain, at Thefirstname.lastname@example.org or 774-284-0693.

We've just made it easier for you to support Unity Church. We registered Unity Church with GoodSearch.com, a company that helps non-profits like ours raise funds through the everyday actions of our supporters. Here is how you can help:
Get started by clicking the "Become a Supporter" button on our profile page at http://www.goodsearch.com/nonprofit/unity-church-of-north-easton.aspx!
Every time you use the link above, or the one on the Fundraising Corner page on our web site, to purchase goods from Amazon, Unity Church receives 4% to 8.5% of what you've spent, depending on our volume of purchases.
Save your receipts when you eat at or take out from Mario's, right here in North Easton! We receive 10% of every dollar spent at Mario's. Put your receipts in the fundraising box at Holly House, or put them in the collection plate at a service. So easy!!

|Spoken Announcements in Worship
Years ago, Unity Church decided on spoken announcements during coffee hour. However, we heard that this now doesn't work, for a few reasons; people talk during them, people want social hour to be just for socializing and not church business, etc.
So, the Worship Committee proposed a new process that the Executive Committee endorsed. Starting in April, we will make these changes:
- After the Prelude and before the bell ringing, one person, hopefully from the Executive Committee, will make all the announcements.
- Anyone who wants a spoken announcement made, please submit it to Gail by the preceding Friday at email@example.com. She will leave a copy on the podium in the Sanctuary to be read aloud.
- To keep things short, please limit the announcement to 30 words. The contact person will be asked to rise or raise a hand so people know who to ask for further information, go to for fliers, etc.
|A Note on A View From the Pew|In keeping with this year's theme of sources and spiritual practice, we invite you to share your journey in a brief, 2-3 minute, View From the Pew during worship. You could talk about a spiritual practice you perform, what it is and how it makes you feel. To schedule a time to share your view, please contact Rev. Tess Baumberger at firstname.lastname@example.org / 508-238-1131 .
