Welcome Dr. Ezra Berkowitz to the Orthopedic Center of Palm Beach County

Ezra Berkowitz, M.D. is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Berkowitz is originally from Roslyn, NY. He received his BA from Columbia University, and went on to teach Chemistry and Physics at LaGuardia High School in New York City. He did this for several years prior to receiving a Post-Baccalaureate Research Training Award from NIH in Bethesda, MD, where he studied proteins and gene scaffolding at the NIDDK.

He earned his MD from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and then completed residency and chief-residency in orthopedic surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY. His training included general surgery as well as pediatric, sports, spine, joints, hand, foot and ankle and orthopedic trauma surgery.

Dr. Berkowitz then completed one year fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville Fl, where he focused on operative and non-operative management of all areas of pediatric musculoskeletal care, including sports, spine, developmental and trauma related issues that occur in children. He has extensive training in modern surgical techniques, although favors conservative treatment including casting, bracing and therapy whenever possible.

When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his family including his son, as well as fitness and SCUBA. He enjoyed participating in high school and college athletics, and also being a team physician for high school athletic teams during his training.
