Saint Patrick's Weekly Reminders
July 26, 2012
We invite you to worship with us this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.  Christian Education for all ages is suspended during the summer months, however, story time is offered each week for children ages 4-8.  For a complete listing of all of our worship services, please click here

We are in need of volunteers who would be willing to serve as ushers on Sunday morning. Currently we are two usher teams short of what we need. An usher team consists of four people and can be made up of husband and wife, parent and child, etc. High school aged teens are especially encouraged to participate.  We will begin a new usher schedule on September 9th and ideally need to have ushers trained and in place by the time the new schedule takes effect. If you feel called to this ministry, please contact Scott Coble, by clicking here

In an effort to realign our worship with the church's canons, and to provide a streamlined Prayers of the People which is enriching for all congregants, we have changed the way we pray for others during worship. Specific names will no longer be read aloud during the Prayers of the People. A list of submitted names and occasions for thanksgiving will be provided in the worship bulletin. A reference to these will be made during the Prayers, as well as an opportunity for congregants to offer 'aloud or in silence' any additional names of persons they wish to prayerfully and liturgically submit to God. Since many names will now be listed in the bulletin, we encourage you to take these names home with you and continue to pray for them throughout the week. Should you desire to offer a name and/or occasion for thanksgiving to be printed in the Sunday bulletin, please inform Beryl Frey in the church office. If requested, Beryl will keep the name automatically listed for up to four weeks, at which time a resubmitted request will be necessary. In the midst of this change we give thanks to God, knowing that all prayers, in all forms, are heard and answered in accordance with Divine wisdom and love.

Please mark your calendar's for Sunday, September 2nd.  On this Sunday during the 10:30am service we will liturgically give thanks for Pam's many years as Director of Youth Ministries and bless her as she begins her discernment process to the priesthood.  A reception honoring Pam will follow the service.  Also, we are accepting contributions towards a gift for Pam.  After so many years of lost spousal time on weekends due to the demands of her position, we would like to provide Pam and Mark Hatley a getaway weekend vacation.  If you would like to contribute, please make checks payable to "Saint Patrick's" and note "Pam Hatley Gift Fund" on the memo line.  You may submit these clearly marked contributions in the lose plate offering or directly to the church office.

Do you have a question about our worship service that you would like to see addressed in our 'Why We Wo What We Wo' column? If so, submit your question by clicking here

If you are desirous of pastoral support from one of our clergy or our lay pastoral leadership, we ask that you inform the church office directly. Please do not rely on word-of-mouth which often does not make it to us. Thank you, and God's peace.

Based on press reports, many of you aware that the National Episcopal Church's triennial General Convention took place last week.  You've probably also heard some information about the proceedings; some factual, some errant.  More will be forthcoming from our Diocesan office in the coming weeks concerning the events and legislation of General Convention, but in the meantime, please watch this video clip from Bishop Curry made just before the conclusion of General Convention.
